Within the Mobility & Infrastructure business unit I coordinate a group of welfare economists and am responsible for developing the Italian market. Recent work includes the Ivrea mobility strategy, Cesena’s parking plan, the integrated mobility approach for the Groningen-Assen region, and cost-benefit analyses of MaaS in Turin and shared mobility in the Arnhem-Nijmegen region. I am also a guest lecturer at several universities.

I co-founded the Italian office of Decisio, a Dutch economic consultancy, which I directed for seven years: dozens of projects in transport economics and sustainable mobility for cities, regions and European institutions, in Italy and across Europe.

Data-driven cycling policy · Zuid-Holland
Interactive appraisal tool comparing the social costs and benefits of cycling policy building blocks, based on ODiN microdata and a cycling model: it identifies where the potential for car-to-bike substitution is highest.
Groningen-Assen region
Integrated mobility approach connecting the urbanisation and housing task to the multimodal network, translated into a joint implementation agenda with provinces, municipalities and operators.
Dutch national cycling CBA guidance
Contributed to the Dutch national appraisal methodology for cycling projects (Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, 2024 update), now used in the Netherlands and beyond.
Cycle highway CBAs (snelfietsroutes)
Social cost-benefit analyses of the Roosendaal-Etten-Leur and Bergen op Zoom-Antwerp cycle highways, and the Westfriesland regional cycle highway network study.
Lake Maggiore cycle route
Feasibility study, CBA and participatory process for the cycle route around the lake: the project secured 10 million euros in ERDF funding.
CIVITAS HANDSHAKE · EU
Coordinated the evaluation of the EU programme connecting Amsterdam, Copenhagen and Munich with ten future cycling capitals: more than ten social cost-benefit studies, ex-ante and ex-post.
